About the author
Bridgette Flagg
Chicago-based entrepreneur, founder, and first-time author whose mission is to feed people, inspire healing, and show that no matter where you come from, transformation is possible.
Bridgette Flagg is a Chicago-based restaurant owner, community leader, and first-time author. She is the owner of Soulè Chicago in North Lawndale and Soulè to Soulè in Ukrainian Village, and the founder of the Soulè Cares Foundation — a nonprofit focused on feeding families, uplifting communities, and giving back with purpose.
“Writing The Recipe to Life was part of her healing journey — a promise she made to herself and to God to tell her story honestly and walk in her purpose.”
The Recipe to Life is not a traditional cookbook. It is a collection of real stories, hard lessons, and healing moments told through food. Each recipe represents a chapter of Bridgette’s life — the loss, the mistakes, the growth, the faith, and the resilience it took to become the woman she is today.
Raised in Chicago, Bridgette learned early that food brings people together. What started in her mother’s kitchen turned into a passion, a business, and now a book.
Through her restaurants, foundation, and now her writing, Bridgette’s mission is simple: to feed people, inspire healing, and show that no matter where you come from, transformation is possible.
